Supplies for Smush Paint Earth Day Craft

  • White cardstock
  • Plate or bowl
  • Paint
  • Pencil
  • Jumbo storage slider bag
  • Scissors
  • Plastic wrap (optional)

Directions

  1. First, add drops of blue and green paint randomly on white cardstock. Your child can make a pattern with the drops of paint or place them anywhere on the cardstock.
  2. Next, carefully place the cardstock inside of a jumbo storage slider bag then close it. Note: You can use a gallon storage bag, but you will have to trim the cardstock to fit inside of the bag. Also, if you don’t want to use a storage bag, place a piece of plastic wrap on top of the paint.
  3. Now it’s time to have fun! Let your child use their hands to smush the paint inside of the bag. Carefully move the paint around so that the paint blends to resemble Earth.
  4. Once your child is finished, carefully remove the painted cardstock from the storage bag then set it aside to dry.
  5. Finally, place a plate or large bowl on top of the painted cardstock then use a pencil to trace the object. Cut out the circle to reveal your smush paint Earth Day craft.
