Celebrate Independence Day with these DIY patriotic confetti poppers! They are easy to make and only requires a few supplies. If you have a lot of toilet paper rolls around the house, put them to use for this project. I love that you can customize these confetti poppers by using different cardstock paper or by adding stickers, pom poms and rhinestones. Scroll down to get started with this craft!

Supplies for DIY Patriotic Confetti Poppers

  • Balloons (red, white or blue)
  • Toilet paper roll (recycled)
  • Cardstock (red, white, blue or patriotic)
  • Scissors
  • Tape
  • Alphabet stickers (optional for decorating)
  • Pom poms, crayons, glitter or markers (optional for decorating)
  • DIY Confetti – shredded tissue paper (blue, silver or red)

Directions

  1. First, make a knot at the end of the balloon then cut off the tip.
  2. Next, stretch the balloon tightly around the recycled toilet paper roll then secure it with tape.
  3. Wrap the toilet paper roll with the paper and secure it with tape. Cut off the excess paper from the toilet paper roll.
  4. Decorate the confetti poppers with pom poms or glitter. Kids can also use markers or crayons to draw on the confetti poppers. Use alphabet stickers to add USA, America or 4th of July to the confetti poppers.
  5. Use the scissors to cut up the shredded tissue paper into confetti pieces.
  6. Add the confetti to the toilet paper roll.
  7. To launch the confetti, pull down on the bottom knot of the balloon, and let go! Now you’re ready to celebrate Independence Day!

I wanted to create a craft that kids can use to celebrate Independence Day. My boys had a great time launching the confetti. There’s a huge mess afterwards but they had so much fun. I hope your children enjoy celebrating the Fourth of July with these DIY patriotic confetti poppers.
